OpenAIRE Graph

Purpose

The ANC exposes dataset metadata via an OAI-PMH endpoint that is harvested by the OpenAIRE Graph. This ensures ANC datasets are discoverable in the broader open science infrastructure.

The metadata is collected and crosswalked to the required standards by the BIDS Indexer, which includes an oai_datacite exporter.

Staying current

We monitor the OpenAIRE Guidelines for Data Repositories. When the guidelines change, the internal metadata collection processes and crosswalks in the BIDS Indexer must be updated accordingly.

Watch for changes to:

  • Required metadata fields in the OpenAIRE guidelines
  • Changes to the DataCite metadata schema
  • Updates to the BIDS Indexer's oai_datacite exporter

How it works

The BIDS Indexer crawls dataset repositories and generates metadata in formats compatible with OpenAIRE guidelines. The oai_datacite exporter crosswalks BIDS/ANC metadata to the DataCite metadata schema, which OpenAIRE can harvest.
